Overview

There is a light sensor at the bottom of the Locator. If a Locator detects light from this sensor outside of business hours, it may mean that the Locator is being tampered with (picked up and removed from the equipment, etc.).

Users can enable email & text alerts for equipment where the Locator reports a light event outside of operating hours.

Alert Logic

  • Trigger Condition: The alert is activated if a Locator paired to any piece of equipment detects light outside of the Location’s operating hours.

  • Recipients: Alerts are dispatched to all listed email addresses and phone numbers for this alert. This includes non-users and disregards individual notification preferences.

  • Frequency: To prevent repeated notifications, alerts for the same piece of equipment are limited to once every 14 hours. This ensures users only get notified once between the hours of 5:00pm and 7:00am.

Alert Management

The alert setting, SMS list, and email list for this alert can be managed in two places by users:

  1. The Alert Rules page within a location

  2. The location create & edit form
