Whether your location has a formal street address or is a rural location, you can define a location's address and position in a few different ways.
Inputting the Street Address
If your location has a street address, you can type in the street address and click on the correct suggested address. This will automatically populate the position latitude and longitude fields
Manually Inputting the Latitude & Longitude
You can also manually input the latitude and longitude directly. If you don't have the latitude and longitude, here is a quick tip for finding them
Pull up the location area on google maps
Right click the area where you want to center your location
Click on the latitude and longitude value (this will copy it to your clipboard
Paste and edit the values into the latitude and longitude fields in the UI
Placing the Location on the Map
If your location doesn't have a street address, you can give it a position by manually placing it on the map. To do this, create your location without inputting an address or position. Then, on the Company -> Location page, follow these steps:
Click once on the row of the newly created location to highlight it
Right-click on the place on the map where you want to position the location
Click on "Move Location to Here"
Continue to repeat the above 2 steps until you're satisfied with the location position
This can also be used to reposition the location after using the above 2 methods to get an initial latitude and longitude from the Location Overview screen:
Click once on the existing location icon to highlight it
Right-click on the place on the map where you want to position the location
Click on "Move Location to Here"
Continue to repeat the above 2 steps until you're satisfied with the location position
