Overview
Users can enable email & text alerts that apply for both equipment and assets where the locator or tag enters the far from site status.
Alert Logic
Trigger Condition: The alert is activated if a locator/equipment or asset/tag pair reports a position that is far from site, when their previous known position was near site or onsite. This ensures that the alert is only sent on the state change.
The trigger is also dependent on the onsite status rule change, where it utilizes the far from site threshold defined below to determine that the object’s closest zone is indeed the distance of the far from site threshold defined.
Far From Site Threshold: The far from site threshold is set by users. If they do not set it and enable this alert, we will fall back to 25 miles.
Recipients: Alerts are dispatched to all listed email addresses and phone numbers for this alert. This includes non-users and disregards individual notification preferences.
Alert Management
The alert setting, SMS list, and email list for this alert can be managed in two places by users:
The "Alert Rules" page within a location
The location "create & edit" form
