To effectively enable the equipment management and tracking features proposed, equipment managers will need to pair equipment to a RecovR locator. This operation consists of physically attaching a locator to the equipment in addition to pairing operation done on the RecovR portal.

What is Pairing?

Pairing is creating a 1:1 relationship between a locator and the equipment. The data collected from the locator(position, status, etc.) is then forwarded to the equipment.

If a user wishes to pair or unpair a locator and the equipment, they will navigate to the Equipment tab. They will then select the pairing icon from the top of the group page. Pairing and unpairing are both supported on the equipment tab and the individual equipment page.

Pairing

Step 1: Selecting Equipment

If equipment has not been selected yet, the user can search for one. Enter at least 3 characters to search. If the user selects Equipment in the table prior to entering the flow, the equipment will be auto-populated.

Step 2: Pairing a Locator

To select a locator, the user can search for it using the Locator ID that can be found on the back of the device. Locators can also be paired through scanning the code on the device. If the equipment is already paired, selecting a new locator will unpair the original locator and will pair the new one.

Unpairing

If the locator or equipment has not been selected yet, the user can search for one by the ID. Enter at least 3 characters to search. If the user selected equipment in the table prior to entering the flow the equipment will be auto-populated.

If the selected equipment is already paired to a locator, then the user can chose to Unpair.
