At the Company level, users can enable "Automatic Location Transfers", which allows the system move inventory between sister Locations (i.e. Locations that belong to that Company) automatically based on their reported position. This eases the burden of manually updating their inventory.
Enabling Automatic Location Transfer
Automatic Location Transfer can be enabled on the Company Overview page:
Settings
There are two settings when configuring Automatic Location Transfer that will apply to all Locations under the Company as well as to both Equipment and Assets:
Automatic Location Transfer: This is to enable or disable the feature company-wide (i.e. it will apply to all Locations under that Company). By default, this setting is disabled.
Duration: This is how quickly the inventory should be moved after it first reports a position at a new Location. By default, this setting is set to 24 hours.
For immediate inventory transfer, upon its first position report in a new Location, please set the duration to 0.
Automatic Location Transfer Logic
When we get a new position for an Equipment or Asset, the system checks the nearest zone of that Location across all Locations within the Company. If the nearest Zone is at a different Location than the one the Equipment/Asset is currently assigned to, a pending transfer will begin. If the Equipment or Asset continues to appear closest to the pending transfer Location, it will be automatically transferred to that Location after the duration (defined at Company's Automatic Location Transfer settings) has passed. This will move both the Equipment/Asset and its paired Locator or Tag to the pending Location's inventory to complete the transfer.
